Mariella Giancola graduated in Modern Languages and Literature at the University of Bari in Italy in the late 90s.
Her passion for travel and interest in social studies drove her to Cambridge where she completed a Masters Degree in Intercultural HRM. This is where her career as an HR professional started.
Driven by an innate enthusiasm for seizing challenges and a genuine interest in empowering people, Mariella has spent the past 15 years supporting staff in a scientific research environment and in 2015 she was appointed Head of HR at the British Antarctic Survey. Over the past 5 years Mariella has been involved in driving her E&D agenda at BAS and promoting work life balance.
