Anna Tuke

Anna is an experienced operational leader within the NHS with over 15 years working in operational management and leadership roles. She has a clinical background as a neurological physiotherapist (BSc Physiotherapy clinical Sciences and MSc Rehabilitation Research). She has worked in a number of different environments in the NHS as well as having worked in a higher educational establishments, and overseas in China.

While coaching has been embedded within her clinical practice and managerial and leadership style, she has recently formalised these through obtaining an Executive coaching qualification (Level 7 Institute of Leadership and Management). She work to the European Mentoring and Coaching Council competency framework and ethical code of practice. She recognises as a coach that development is ongoing and maintain her continuous professional development through regular supervision, reflection and attendance on relevant courses / conferences.

Her coaching approach focuses on developing a robust coaching relationship to create a shared understanding of the coachee’s personal and organisational values. She initially use the GROW model and where appropriate coaching tools to unlock the coachee’s understanding of themselves, others, situations and expand both their actual and perceived potential. She believes that coaching should offer challenge balanced with support, with the aim of ensuring greater awareness enabling the formulation of actions appropriate to the coachee’s, values and situation.

She is happy to coach individuals for a variety of issues. She is interested in coaching operational leaders and managers who are technical experts (clinical or non-clinical) who find themselves managing and leading services without leadership / management training. Within this area she is particularly interested in using coaching for the coachee to explore the interplay between different personality types and communication styles and how this can impact positively or negatively on professional relationships.
