Arthur Rank Hospice supports people in Cambridgeshire living with a life-limiting illness and those who need end-of-life care. Our services are provided free of charge to patients and their families. Our aim is to provide the highest quality care, helping them to make every moment count.

We care for people at the Hospice in Cambridge, the day treatment centre in Wisbech and in patient’s own homes through the Arthur Rank Community team. The support provided by our inpatient unit, day therapy services and Hospice at Home is practical, holistic and tailored to the individual. Programmes may include psychological support, physiotherapy, complementary therapy, occupational therapy, rehabilitative support, counselling, bereavement and spiritual support.

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity needs to secure £7.45 million every year to deliver our services free of charge to patients and their loved ones. About half of this currently comes from statutory sources with further funds raised through our Bistro, education services, conference facility and hairdressing salon. The remainder is raised thanks to the wider local community who are motivated to ensure that work of the hospice continues: amongst other things they donate to our shops, take part in our events, take on personal challenges, hold their own fundraisers or leave gift in their Will. We are constantly looking for new opportunities to sustain funds, so we can keep providing and developing our vital services long into the future.

Hundreds attend Arthur Rank Hospice’s Light Up a Life service to remember those they love

Hundreds of beautiful lights will now shine out into the night at the entrance to Arthur Rank Hospice, across the festive season until twelfth night on Saturday 5 January 2019. Over seven hundred guests gathered at Arthur Rank Hospice in Shelford Bottom on Sunday 2 December for Light Up a Life. Hospice staff, volunteers, supporters, friends, patients and family members came together for a beautiful service to remember loved ones. Carols were played by City of Ely Military Band, as guests arrived at 5pm, for the poignant service sponsored by Peasgood & Skeates.
