Social Networking Event: A Sensory Treat of Art and Gin

Thursday, 22 November 2018
18:00 - 20:30
Cambridge, UK

The Rising Network is recognised for its relaxed and informal approach offering an alternative way of networking and November brings our next social event. While some may associate us with women only events, everyone is welcome at these quarterly socials. Not only that, the events are free to members as part of your membership package.

The Art Hound Gallery will be bringing some very special art pieces to show us, including some of the bigger names of art such as Damian Hirst, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali and Tracy Emin. Art not only delights our eyes but has become a serious area of investment. The Art Hound Gallery will also be giving us an introductory talk on art as an investment, explaining why it was the fastest growing alternative investment in the last financial year, rising by 21% but also discussing the many caveats with forgeries, misnomers and myths that put people off. Tom and Natasha will explain how to be a shrewd investor and avoid the pitfalls.

Following this short talk by The Art Hound Gallery, Gin Tasting will commence by the Cambridge Wine Merchants. Immerse yourself in gin and learn about the history and different styles of gin and why its hugely popular at the minute.

This event is jointly sponsored by the Art Hound Gallery and Woodfines Solicitors and hosted by The Royal Cambridge Hotel.

Wine, non-alcoholic beverages and light canapes will be available on the night.

On the night:

  • Enjoy a private exhibition of some of the leading names in contemporary art
  • Learn about art as an investment, not only the big names but up and coming stars such as Lauren Baker, Steve Smythe, Terry Pastor and Ian Robertson

Natasha Dawn Biography
Natasha has worked in the creative arts industry for nearly 30 years. Beginning as a stage performer as a child and training at one of the world’s top drama schools, Natasha moved into the world of directing, writing and creating theatre in the early 2000s. Working alongside some of the industry’s most innovative visual and expressive artists and performers, she has created immersive and interactive theatre for clients such as Madame Tussauds, Punchdrunk theatre company, King’s Cross Station, The London Dungeon, The National Trust and many more. In 2006 Natasha set up her own theatre company which specialised in little known 17th century drama and pioneered the now popular trope of pairing period costume drama with contemporary rock and pop music on stage. Her creative work has always been inspired by many conceptual artists such as Andy Warhol, Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst – and combined with her life long love of Pop Culture and Pop Art, led her to begin collecting works for investment and enjoyment. Natasha is now the main art buyer for The Art Hound Gallery.
