“A psychological phenomenon in which people are unable to internalize their accomplishments.”

Women are more likely to attribute their successes to luck or contacts, as opposed to talent and hard work. The impostor syndrome is a psychological term referring to a pattern of behaviour where people doubt their accomplishments and have a persistent, often internalised fear of being exposed as a fraud. The term ‘impostor syndrome’ was created by clinical psychologists Pauline Clance and Suzanne Imes in 1978, when they found that despite having adequate external evidence of accomplishments, people with impostor syndrome remained convinced that they don’t deserve the success they have. In this hands-on workshop with Sue Dunn, Certified Hypnotherapist, identify and recognise your patterns of behaviour and learn how to overcome impostor syndrome to start living your life to the fullest.

Imposter syndrome can be debilitating, causing stress, anxiety, low self-confidence and can limit your courage to go after new opportunities and to put yourself out there in a meaningful way.

Are you feeling like a phony—you feel as though at any moment you are going to be found out as a fraud—like you don’t belong where you are, and you only got there through luck?

Do you feel like you are not good enough to be in your role?

“At some point I’m going to be find out for not being as competent as they think I am.”

“I’m not qualified to speak publicly or to give a talk… this must be a mistake.”

If you can relate to any of the above, you are not alone and this workshop will help you to make incremental changes to move towards overcoming impostor syndrome.
