    Ali will be sharing insights on to how it’s still a man’s world and why, as well as the role we all need to play as disruptors to ensure we achieve gender parity, in the home and in the workplace.
  • Plan for the Future – Common Pension Pitfalls (and how to avoid them!) by Claire LaRue, Financial Planner, PB Financial Planning
    Women’s pension pay gap is well documented but how do we know what to do about it? This short but hard hitting talk will give you the basics on the common pension pitfalls are and how to avoid them.
  • Let’s Talk Money – Negotiating your salary is no different to negotiating a deal by Helen Adams, Commercial Consultant
    The art of salary negotiation is a key career skill that will help you throughout your working life. The gender pay gap reduces women’s lifetime earnings and affects their pensions causing poverty for women in later life. In this short talk Helen will share her top tips for planning and executing a strategy to help you get that pay rise.

Speaker Biographies 

About Helen Adams: Helen is a sales management professional with a career spanning 3 decades with technology companies including almost 11 years at ARM in Cambridge where she ran the sales teams in Europe and Asia delivering $1.0 Bn of annual revenue. Since leaving ARM in 2017 she has been working with smaller companies to develop change programs and business strategies, applying change management skills learned over the last 30 years to help start-ups and smaller organisations looking to emulate the success of businesses like ARM.

Helen has long been, and continues to be, a real champion of positive change management in commercial organisations and is passionate about developing individuals and teams to help them to fully realise their potential. Helen is also a regular contributor to panels and tech industry networking events and has a real passion for emerging technologies. She had an unconventional start in the industry; her first job after graduating was as Chief Chemist in a Printed Circuit Board facility, but soon made the transition into frontline sales. Helen has a BSc.(Hons.) Environmental Chemistry and MSc Environmental Management and is an Associate of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

When she is not flying round the world, Helen is currently renovating a 450 year old Rectory in Suffolk with her Husband,13 year old son and Teddy the Golden Retriever.

About Claire LaRue:  Claire joined the Financial Planning team at Price Bailey in 2016 and brings considerable experience in helping clients manage their wealth and planning needs. She has worked in Financial Services since 2004 and has gone from strength to strength. She has developed a reputation for helping clients understand what can be complex matters in a way that makes sense to them. Her passion for helping families and business owners is well known.

At PB Financial Planning, Claire supports her clients in a way that best suits them. She believes every client should have a tailored financial plan at their foundation. There is no ‘one size fits all’ in Claire’s view. She prefers to take into account all of her clients needs and objectives. She is well known for her enthusiasm about financial matters and sharing her knowledge and experience. Families recognise the value she brings to their financial lives. In her team, Claire is known for her high standards, but also her warm and open style. About Ali Stripling: Ali is the Senior Manager for Community and Inclusion at Arm.  Ali draws on 20 years’ experience within sustainability, with a passion for employee community engagement and diversity & inclusion.  During her career at Arm, Heineken and EDF Energy, Ali has helped to mobilize thousands of employees to make meaningful contributions in the communities where they live and work. In her four years at Arm, Ali has been instrumental in evolving their volunteering, fundraising and campaigning programme; Team Arm, to deliver with impact, globally.  In the last 12 months, Ali has been focussing on developing partnerships and programmes that help to inspire underserved, underrepresented students and elevate girls and young women into STEM. Now driving D&I at Arm, Ali is working across the organization to build and nurture an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diversity of their community. Where everyone can thrive and be their brilliant self every day, everywhere!

About Sian Scanlon: Sian is a corporate partner at Taylor Vinters, passionate about helping her clients to realise their ambitions and “make great things happen” at key transition points in their businesses, whether that be in growing, investing, buying and selling. Appreciated for her friendly, practical approach and straightforward style, she is known for cutting through complexity, ensuring clients are supported and delivering deals.

Throughout her career Sian has been a strong advocate of the opening up of opportunity in the legal sector and creating an environment in which individuals can develop their career in a way that allows them to bring the best of themselves to work, and likewise grow personally.
